( small drones <250g, large drones <7kg)

Course Coverage

This course provides students with the knowledge and skills required to obtain pilot certification for operating small drones (under 250 grams) and large drones (under 7 kilograms) in compliance with Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department (CAD) regulations and international standards. The curriculum covers drone operation fundamentals, including flight safety, airspace classification, and weather effects on drone performance. Students will learn about regulatory requirements, such as registration, remote identification, and visual line of sight (VLOS) operations, as well as practical skills in drone piloting, maintenance, and mission planning. The course includes hands-on flight training with both small and large drones, focusing on applications in aerial photography, surveying, and logistics. Training also addresses risk management and emergency procedures to ensure safe operations.
